Dr. Mel Taskey

Dr. W. Mel Taskey has been a dental practitioner in the City of Edmonton since the mid-1950’s, and has specialized in fixed and removable prosthodontics since 1968. A past President of the Edmonton and District Dental Society and the Alberta Academy of Prosthodontics, Dr. Taskey has been a pioneer in the science of functional orthodontics and the treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction in the Edmonton area.

Dr. Taskey’s areas of specialization include the treatment and therapy of motor vehicle accident victims; orthodontic therapy as an alternative to surgery for TMJ patients; the use of implants in establishing TMJ stability and occlusal maintenance; treatment and therapy for cleft palate patients; and extensive experience with difficult crown & bridge and denture patients.

Married for many years to the lovely Esther Ann Devine, Dr. Taskey is an enthusiastic golfer, and enjoys spending time with his three children and their families. He often travels to Germany to visit his daughter and grandchildren.
